Eastern India’s first skill university is all set to come up at Mangaldai in Darrang district with an investment of Rs 1000 crore.

Chief Minister Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal has laid the foundation of the first skill university on Monday, February 15th. Addressing the foundation event Sonowal, highlighted that Govt. of Assam aims to create skillful and quality human resource who can earn the special ability to compete worldwide and fulfill the demand of employment in the world. 

The project is 3rd in the country and first in eastern India and is scheduled to be completed by 2026. Govt. of Assam is also exploring with countries like Singapore, Germany, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, Israel, Japan and the United Kingdom etc., for support in terms of sector specific expertise.
