Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launches SARTHAQ for quality education under NEP 2020.

Union Education Minister on April 8,2021, launched ‘Students’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement through Quality Education (SARTHAQ), the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 implementation plan for school education.

The Minister chaired a high level  meeting on the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and released the implementation plan, SARTHAQ for school education in the presence of  Shri Amit Khare; Secretary, Higher Education, Smt Anita Karwal,  Secretary-School Education, and other senior officials of the Ministry attended the meeting.

This implementation plan was a part of the celebrations leading to the Amrit Mahotsav on 75 years of Indian independence, a statement read.

The plan delineates the roadmap for the implementation of NEP 2020 for the next 10 years. States and Union Territories have been given the flexibility to adapt the plan with “local contextualization”. They have been allowed to modify the plan as per their needs and requirements, the Education Ministry said.

Education Minister, Pokhriyal further stated that SARTHAQ would benefit all stakeholders including 25 crore students, 15 lakh schools, 94 lakh teachers, educational administrators, parents, and the whole community as education is the backbone of an equitable and just society.

The major focus of SARTHAQ is to define activities in such a manner that clearly delineates goals, outcomes, and timeframe i.e., it links each recommendation of# NEP with 297 Tasks along with responsible agencies, timelines, and 304 outputs of these tasks, the Minister shared on his twitter handle.
