Three Premier Institutions from Assam Ranks under Top 20 NIRF India Rankings 2021.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced NIRF 2021 results on Thursday, September 9, through video conferencing. A total of 17 Institutions from Northeast India has been a part of NIRF India Rankings 2021
The NIRF rankings 2021 categories are – Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Research institution (newly added), Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Dental and Law.
A total of 17 Institutions from Northeast India has secured their rankings in different categories in NIRF 2021.
The top positions among North-eastern Institutions were bagged by Indian Institute of Guwahati with 7th rank in Engineering category, 8th rank in overall category and 9th rank in Research category.
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Guwahati, secured 19TH rank in the Pharmacy category.
National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA) Guwahati bagged 20th rank in Law category.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM),Shillong is on 23th rank in Management category.
Along with these the other Institutions from Northeast India who made it to the list of top 100 rankings nationally in different categories in NIRF 2021 are Dibrugarh University, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Gauhati University, Tezpur University, National Institute of Technology (NIT)Silchar, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalya, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Meghalaya, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Guwahati, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar.
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Arunachal Pradesh and North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) AP are also in the ranking list of NIRF 2021.
Last year, the NIRF rankings were released on June 11 by former Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
The NIRF was launched by the Minister for Education on September 29, 2015. NIRF rankings are released annually to recognize top universities, colleges and other educational institutions across India.
