Assam Scientist Honoured by Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award for research.
The Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research–North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR–NEIST) scientist Dr. Binay Kumar Saikia has been honoured with Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award for Science and Technology, 2021 for his research on Geo-atmosphere, The CSIR announced on September 27, 2021.
Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award, India’s most prestigious award in multidisciplinary science was awarded to Dr. Saikia in the categories of Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences.
It is a proud moment for the entire state as, after 20 years the honour has been received by a scientist from the state.
Minister of Education, Ranoj Pegu, while taking to his official twitter handle, congratulated Dr. Saikia and wrote, “Dr. Binay Kr Saikia, senior scientist from North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat won prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021. The award is a recognition of outstanding Indian work in science and technology.”
