This was announced by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on June 1 in a campaign rally at Kheroni field in Karbi Anglong.
The provision will be made under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme. The Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme was launched by the Government of Assam, for those candidates who had scored at least 60 percent or above in the HS examination.
Through the Pragyan Bharati scheme, the Government has provisions to support the students of Assam for providing free text books or textbook assistance to students, admission fee waiver to all BPL students, education loan subsidy under Abhinandan scheme, a mobility grant of Rs 10,000 per year to girl students pursuing postgraduate courses.
