The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong hosted the commencement ceremony for the batches of post graduate and doctoral programmes. The ceremony was to honour 309 post-graduate programmes (PGP) management students, 5 PhD scholars and 11 PhD working professionals. The session is being the first physical mode event after the lockdown, the official statement reads.
Dr Anurag Batra, Chairman,BW Business World and Professor Ashoke K Dutta, Editor-in-Chief, Director,IIM Shillong, graced the event as the chief guests of the ceremony.
Prof. DP Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong welcomed the new participants In his speech and congratulated the students for successfully getting enrolled.
Addressing the graduates, Ashoke K. Dutta explained the importance of clinical research. He further advised the graduates to start with a company, and be lifelong learners, observers, and to be passionate about solving societal challenges. Sharing his personal experiences, he said that everyone should follow the rules and that one should never defy the law.
Dr Anurag Batra, Chairman,BW Business World and Editor-in-Chief, while addressing the students spoke about pursuing entrepreneurship. He emphasized on the value of time and said that time is our most powerful weapon. He further extended his best wishes to everyone to make the most of their life.
